How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Drink plenty of water before and after your treatment. Plan on arriving 5-10 minutes before your appointment time for fill out intake paperwork and to discuss any medical issues with your massage therapist before your treatment.
What should I expect from my first session?
You should expect your therapist to begin with a review of your intake form and to perform a brief assessment of your posture and range of motion. Your therapist will also perform a brief tissue assessment while you are on the table to find problematic areas. During treatment you should be prepared to communicate and give feedback to your therapist on amount of pressure, techniques, and modalities they are using. After the session the therapist may recommend return visits and/or home exercises.
Do you accept insurance?
We accept Heath Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts, but the client is responsible for determining what information their account provider requires. We will provide a detailed receipt upon request.

Unfortunatly, we are no longer accepting new auto insurance clients due to the difficulty in filing claims since the new insurance law went into effect.

We do not accept health insurance at this time.
What are your accepted payment methods?

Payment is due at time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Flat River Massage prefers Venmo, cash or check for payment to avoid the credit card company fees. We do accept all major credit cards, apple pay and google pay.

Since we are a licensed health care provider in the state of Michigan we are also able to accept most Health Savings Accounts.

We will provide an itemized bill for flex spending accounts on request.

We will coordinate with auto insurance, but the patient is liable for any difference between Flat River Massage fees for services and what the auto insurance company chooses to pay

Returned checks will be assessed a $30 processing fee
What is your cancellation policy?

Should you cancel your visit less than 24 hours prior to your appointment time there will be a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment.

Should you cancel with less than 12 hours notice or miss your appointment without notification, there will be a no show fee of 100% of the appointment.

These fees may be waived at owner's discretion due to inclement weather, emergencies, etc
