What should I expect at my first appointment?
- For your first massage session, plan on spending the first 5-10 minutes talking with the therapist about the medical issue. Have an idea of what hurts, where it hurts, when it hurts, and when it began. The therapist will also take a brief health history including current medications, allergies and surgeries. After that the therapist will suggest a plan of treatment and instruct you on what you need to do to get ready for treatment. After treatment, you and the therapist will work together to determine frequency and duration of future treatments and how progress will be assessed.
What should I expect during the massage?
- Therapetic/Medical, Deep Tissue, or Relaxation Massage
Medical massage uses surgical draping. This means that only the area of the body the
therapist is working on is uncovered.
The therapist may use therapeutic oils, lotions heat, essential oils and/or topical analgesics
- Prenatal massage
Surgical draping will be used so that only the area of the body the therapist is working on is uncovered
You will either be in in a traditional stomach/back position or in a side lying position, depending on how
far you are in your pregnancy
Massage cream or oil will be used. Essential oils are generally limited to lavender or lemongrass due to
- Raindrop Therapy
You will be asked to remove all jewelry
Surgical draping will be used exposing only the area of the body the therapist is treating
This treatment applies essential oils directly to your skin, with occasional use of massage oil to prevent
contact irritation by the essential oil application
What is the cancellation policy?
- Cancellations made less than 3 hours prior to appointment time will result in a 20% cancellation fee.
